1. Moms Paddle

Norton Recreation Department and Norton Kayak Company will hold a Moms Paddle 5 to 8 p.m. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Norton Recreation Department. Trip includes a three hour guided tour of Norton Reservoir, kayak and equipment rental and paddling and safety instruction. Cost is $55 per paddler. 2. Parent & Child Book Club

Talk about books and have some snacks 5:30 p.m. at Norton Public Library. This program is for kids in or near grades 2 through 4 and their parents. This month's book is “Happy Birthday Kirsten!” by Janet Shaw.

3. “Chicago” auditions

Un-Common will hold auditions for students in grades 9 through age 21 for the young adult company summer production of the Broadway musical "Chicago" July 18-21 at Orpheum Theatre, Foxborough. Auditions will start 6:30 p.m. by appointment only in Mansfield. Callbacks are Tuesday, May 21, 6:30 p.m. in Mansfield. If you are physically unable to attend the auditions, contact Un-Common by email for information on presenting a video audition. Rehearsals will be held on Mondays and one other weeknight evening in Mansfield and Foxborough and Sunday afternoons in Foxborough beginning May 26.  The show will be performed at The Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA July 18-21, 2013. 4. Meditative Mondays at NRT's Sheep Pasture

Come to Sheep Pasture,  307 Main St., Easton, 7:45 a.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month through August for a free 30-45 minute nature walk. Bring your iPod, or just enjoy the sounds of nature and walk through Sheep Pasture’s trails in the early morning. Meeting starts out from the Carriage House and is appropriate for all ability levels. Walk is drizzle or shine; in case of heavier rain, walk will be held the next scheduled Monday. No registration required. Next dates May 20, June 3, 17, July 1, 15, Aug. 5 and 19.

5. High near 74, low around 56

Today there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then again after 3 p.m. There will be patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. East wind will be 3 to 6 mph. Tonight there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7 p.m. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southeast wind will be around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
