1. Lessons & Carols
Boston Black Choir and instrumentalists along with St. Mary’s Choir will perform an afternoon of reflection through nine lessons and carols. This event will begin 4 p.m. at St Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Reception to follow in the Parish center.

2. Norton Kayak Co. offers gift certificate discount
Norton Kayak Company is offering a three hour kayak tour for two gift certificate for $50. Normal price is about $55 per kayaker.

3. “How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying” auditions
The Un-Common Theatre Company will hold auditions for their spring production of “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” 1 to 4 p.m. A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant "company man," the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love. Auditions for actors, singers and dancers will be held at St. Mark’s Church in Foxborough for students in Grades 7 through 12 by appointment only. 4. Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision science competition for K-12
The world’s largest K-12 student science competition, Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision is a hands-on program that has evolved over the years, and continues to inspire young people to tap into their creativity, use critical-thinking, and combine it with the tools of science and technology to come up with ideas and inventions that could make the world a better place in the future. Applications for the 2013 competition are available online at ExploraVision.org. The deadline for all projects is Jan. 31, 2013.
