5 Things Aug. 7: Moms Paddle, Brockton Rox and More

1. Walking on sunshine
Today will be sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind will become south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Tonight will be clear, with a low around 63. South wind will be around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

2. Moms Paddle
Norton Kayak will host a Norton Rec Moms Paddle, a guided three-hour tour of the Norton Reservoir starting 5:30 p.m. The tour includes the rental and lesson. Cost is $60 per person. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Norton Recreation Department. Participants can also stop by Sundae Shack for a cone. Reservations required. 3. Brockton Rox take on Mavericks
Watch the Brockton Rox play in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League as they take on the Mavericks at 7:05 p.m. Tonight the stadium, located at 1 Feinberg Way, Brockton, will celebrate National Night Out Against Crime. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Brockton Rox website.

4. Borderland Photography Contest
You are invited to share your admiration of Borderland State Park by taking part in the 2012 Borderland Photography Contest. This contest is free, and open to everyone and will run from April 1 through Oct. 31. Participants may submit up to three photos per month.  For more information visit the Friends of Borderland website.

5. Voter information
The last day to register to vote or to change your political party for the upcoming State Primary is Friday, Aug. 17. Absentee ballots are available at Town Hall. For more information regarding the election .
