1. Rain likely
Showers and thunderstorms are 60 percent likely, mainly before 7 a.m. Patchy fog is expected before 8 a.m. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 87. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 64.

2. Hornithology Summer Horn concert
Hornithology Summer Horn ensemble will hold a concert at St. Mary’s Church 7 to 8:30 p.m. With a four-octave range, and over 100 years of combined playing experience, The Hornithology Ensemble plays a diverse repertoire of horn music, from Bach to the jazzier arrangements of Lowell Shaw.

3. Vacation Bible School
Today is the last day to register for Immanuel Lutheran’s Vacation Bible School. Children in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 4 are invited to attend from Aug. 13 to 17, 9 to 11:30 a.m. The theme this year is "Splash in God’s Word.” Come hear Bible stories, learn songs, make crafts and have a fun filled week. 4. New DOT number
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced a new telephone number for Registry of Motor Vehicles business and transactions, 857-DOT-8000/857-368-8000. The number serves the RMV’s Call Center which answers, based on 2011 call volumes, an average of 45,000 calls each month. The RMV reminds customers that there are two dozen transactions that may be performed online at mass.gov/RMV. For transportation news and updates visit the MassDOT website, blog or Twitter account.
