Turkey Brigade to feed 2,000 families next week

The Personal Best Charity Turkey Brigade will be held on Saturday, November 23 at St. Mary’s School, Pratt Street in Mansfield at 1 p.m. In its eighteenth year, the Brigade is sponsored by Personal Best Karate schools’ students, families and friends and has as its mission to provide those in need a Thanksgiving dinner.  Since its inception, we have fed 20,000 families and are looking to feed another 2,000 more! The public is invited to come at 1 p.m. and to help package the meals.

Along with corporate sponsors, children and families raised money for the food though Personal Best Charity’s annual Turkey Trot run in October, which raised more than $44,000. Friends and local schools have also donated canned goods, made cards and will package and deliver the meals to the receiving family’s door. While providing a great need to community, it is also at the same time teaching service and citizenship to children.

Thanks to the corporate sponsors: TripAdvisor, One Beacon Charitable Trust, Covidien, Interactive Data Corporation, Foxboro Fit Club, Mark Halvorsen DMD, Delphi Valuation Advisors Inc., Florence Electric, the Gallagher Family, the Palter Family, Produce Barn, Wendell’s Pub, Koso America, Benedict J. Ingegneri DMD, MultiConcept Inc., Norwood Engineering, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Easton Chamber of Commerce, Christina Beecher Fine Arts, the Pelland family, the Kosel family and Community Counseling of Bristol Country Inc.
