PBK Scholarship Winner Announced

Renee Beneski is the recipient of this year’s Personal Best Charity Good Citizen Scholarship. Each year, the charity, affiliated with Personal Best Karate, awards a college-bound senior with a $1,000 scholarship to aid in college expenses.

Beneski , who lives in Bridgewater, graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School in June and is planning on attending the University of Vermont in the fall. She will be majoring in Pre-Med and Physics with the goal of becoming a pediatrician.

“We are very proud of Renee and all her accomplishments,” said Master Christopher Rappold, founder of Personal Best Karate. “She is an inspiration to all our students and we will miss her energy while she is at college.”

An outstanding student and leader in many school activities --including president of the National Honor Society and captain of the Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track teams – Beneski is very acclaimed in her karate career as well. She is a member of the Demonstration Team and an Assistant Instructor at the Personal Best Karate in Norton, and has been studying martial arts for 13 years.  She earned her Third Degree Black Belt in 2012.

Personal Best Charity is instrumental in giving back to the local community since its inception 18 years ago. It is the driving force behind the annual Turkey Brigade, which has fed 20,000 local families a complete Thanksgiving dinner with the help of students, family and friends of Personal Best Karate.  Personal Best Karate, with locations in Norton, Foxboro, Easton, Norwood and Medfield, is a character education karate and kickboxing program for students of all ages.
