NORTON BOYS TRACK WINS RELAYS
What a day for Lancer track. After being runner up in 2 out of the last 3 years, the boys finally took home the Massachusetts D4 relay title for the first time in program history! With a combined effort of 18 Lancer boys, 5 school records, and 8 out of 9 relays placing for points, the boys scored 58 points, 14 points more than both Stoneham & Randolph for the victory. Top 5 state standings are as follows:
1.) NORTON - 58
2.) STONEHAM - 44
2.) RANDOLPH - 44
4.) CARDINAL SPELLMAN - 34
5.) BELLINGHAM - 32
The boys had 2 state relay champion teams! Starting with the javelin, Kevin O'Leary, Cam Stalters, & Alex Buchan DESTROYED the old school record by over 22 feet, previously held by Kevin O'Leary, Joe Colley, & Cam Stalters (2012). The old record was 431'3" and the new record is 453'9", good enough for best javelin relay in the entire state! The high jump team of Kevin O'Leary, Camden Cleathero, & Brandon Durocher not only won the title, but also broke a school record.
