Sugar Babies, Free Movies and Essay Contests?

I often find myself trying to make the most of these final days of summer (and yes, I know I just said FINAL and SUMMER in the same sentence, my apologies). Being the Mother of the fantastic four I have become a pro at searching places like the PATCH and the local library websites for low cost or free entertainment.

By August, most events offered start to wind down and often we find ourselves dishing out more money for mini-golf, dinner, and ice cream. As a family of six you can break the bank in just a simple day trip to the zoo if your not careful!

So you can imagine my joy, when I saw that Mansfield Crossing was hosting  FREE Family Summer Movie Nights. The Movies are held on the grassy area by Sports Authority.

We brought our own blankets and chairs, but there are wonderful picnic tables and plenty of spots to sit. Five Below is right across the way and it supplied us with inexpensive treats to share! We enjoyed our sugar babies and shared them with our friends (although I think us grown ups will be in need of a dentist after this)!

We enjoyed face painting, goodie bags and raffle give aways from Yankee Candle. The inflatable screen delighted our children as it was filled with images from "Despicable Me" . We all giggled as the minions sang songs in Minion speak. The bugs were at a minimum and a good time was had by all!

Kudos again to the folks at Mansfield Crossing. They have used their ability to skillfully market their product while simultaneously serving the families of the surrounding communities. A win win!

Last Summer my oldest participated in a writing contest supported by the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce with their offices located in Mansfield Crossing. The writing contest was a Facebook voting event where the youth posted their essays about their favorite summer memories.

My daughter was one of the essay winners. Her generous prize package included a Kindle, bunches of back to school supplies and an opportunity to celebrate her success with a breakfast and a view of the grounds of the TPC Deutsche Bank Championship PGA Tour. It was an awesome experience for my now twelve year old.  It was wonderful for me to see our community embrace the gifts of our youth in such a manner as well.

It's all pretty cool stuff for families.. and it is right here in our own backyard!
Be sure to check it out!
