Winter Storm Warning Issued for Norton Area

Between 8 to 12 inches of snow expected in the area.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Attleboro area Wednesday. The warning is in effect from 4 a.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday.

The warning is due to heavy snow expected to hit the area. According to the weather service, between 8 to 14 inches of snow could accumulate.

Hazards include heavy snow and dangerous low windchills, considerable blowing and drifting snow with near blizzard conditions possible at times along the eastern Massachusetts coast, according to the weather service.

According to WHDH's Pete Bouchard:

Any way you slice it, this will be a big storm....but not a blockbuster. Part of the reason is that the storm will be two-pronged with a big lull in the middle (tomorrow afternoon).
