SUMMARY: The Norton Track & Field Boosters was established in the fall of 2009 by a group of ambitious parents eager to provide deserving senior scholarships to multi-season Norton cross country and track and field athletes. This family fun event is great for all ages and the whole family!!
COURSE: A flat, fast wheel measured 3.1 mile course. The course is open to all runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. The race will start at the side of the Solmonese School. TIMING: Rick Kates Timing.
AMENITIES/ AWARDS: MICROFIBER T-SHIRTS to the first 100 pre-registered participants. New running shoes from DB SPORTS to the overall first place female and male runners. Turkeys and Medals to the top three finishers in six age group categories male & female (18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), as well as to the top Norton finisher. There will be medals to the top three finishers for girls and boys in the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run (12 and Under). All kids in the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive participation medals! Look also for our post race food, drinks, and raffle! Don’t forget to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the local food pantry and extra cash for chances on our great raffle prizes.
REGISTRATION: A $20 (5K) / $10 (1 Mile) non-refundable entry fee prior to November 9th, 2012, $25 (5K) / $10 (1 Mile) thereafter. Online registration can be found at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=2060362

J. C. Solmonese Elementary School covers kindergarten through third grade. Forty teachers make up the total of 78 faculty members. "Anything we do must have a direct impact on student learning," says Ritta Bolton, principal of J. C. Solmonese Elementary School. "All children can learn, and it's our responsibility to help them grow academically and socially."
