Where Do Drivers Speed Most in Norton?
We want to hear from you and see if there's a consensus among readers.
Norton Police Department is offering to deploy a speed monitor in various locations in town to remind motorists to slow down and make them aware of their speeds. Where do you think the monitor is needed most?
On Facebook, Cathy Charlton says Burt Street is the worst, as she's lost two cats to speeding cars. North and South Worcester Street are also big offenders, according to Ann-Marie Costa and Sara Silkworth. Lee Meagher Lewis says Freeman Street, without a doubt, is the worst. What do you think?
Tell us in the comments section which streets have the most speeders in town and which streets might need a raised section, another stop sign, more crosswalks or another measure to slow down traffic.
In a followup story we'll roundup your comments and hear from Norton Police Department on where they find the most speeders.

Freeman Street is terrible. Drivers easily go 40-50, especially late at night.

Reservoir St.!! That street is a raceway and nothing is being done about it.

Unless these monitors are capable of taking snapshots of the speeding cars and there license plates in order to issue speeding tickets this act won’t solve anything. Unfortunately ignorant people, need more than a reminder now a days for things to really sink in.

The Town of Canton puts up one of these monitors in a given location for a few days or weeks, and then they run a speed trap there. The pattern is always monitor first, then speed trap. They vary the amount of time before they switch to a speed trap, so people don't know when the speed trap will show up, so they slow down in that area automatically. It is really working to slow traffic down for them.
