Wheaton Opens 2012-13 Season At Home With New England Figure Meet

Senior Kirsten Wendth (Waterford, N.Y./CDYMCA Sculpins) earned first place honors.

 

The Wheaton College synchronized swimming team opened its 2012-13 season by hosting the New England Figure Meet on Sunday morning at Balfour Natatorium with Boston University.

 Senior Kirsten Wendth (Waterford, N.Y./CDYMCA Sculpins) earned first place honors in the Collegiate B competition as she posted a score of 65.565.

 The Lyons also took the top-five overall spots in the Collegiate C competition with senior Christine Dyster (Tempe, Ariz./Arizona Desert Gems) leading the way in first place overall (57.637). Junior Nicole Chicoine (Santa Rosa, Calif./Red Wood Empire Synchro) finished second with a score of 57.393, classmateHolly Wagman (York, Pa./Pennsbury Falconettes) was third overall (56.405), sophomore Riley Callahan-Mayo (San Diego, Calif./San Diego Sweetwater Dolphins) ranked fourth (55.976) and fellow sophomoreJanine Kopeski (Sterling, Mass./ANA Synchro) rounded out Wheaton's top-five performers with a score of 55.631.

 In the Collegiate D competition, freshman Ann Marie Brasacchio (Sarasota, Fla.) turned in a first place finish with a score of 57.562.

 Wheaton returns to action next semester as the Lyons travel Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. for the Canisius Invitational at Koessler Athletic Center Pool.
