Tricentennial Committee Holding PawSox Fundraiser
Proceeds to go toward birthday parade.
The Norton Tricentennial Committee has been busy preparing for the birthday parade June 12, which will cost them about $40,000. And part of that has been organizing Norton Night at the Pawtucket Red Sox, a fundraiser.
Tickets for this event at 4:05 p.m. at McCoy Stadium Monday, May 30 are $7 and can be bought from various locations around town. Those include Norton Historical Society on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Attorney Dan Rich 250 E. Main St., C.P. Rich Plumbing 79R W. Main St., Haskins Pharmacy and the Norton VFW.
“We heard people were buying directly from McCoy Stadium or online and we do not get the credit for it,” explained committee member Joyce Bernardo. “Tickets have to be bought directly from the people and places listed on the flyer for us to benefit.”
Tim Brown, of Norton, will be singing the National Anthem that night.
The committee’s goal is to sell 250 PawSox tickets or more. The committee gets half of the money from ticket sales. Donations for the parade and family picnic Aug. 14 are also being accepted at North Easton Savings Bank, 25 West Main St., Norton or at www.norton300.org.
