Trash Barrel Fire, Rollover in Norton Police Log: Nov 7 - 9

Wednesday, Nov. 7
7:58 a.m.: Oak Street, assisted Norton Fire Department. Caller reports trash barrel outside is on fire. Barrell is close to lawn mower and house. Caller reports a quadriplegic in the house, they are evacuating him. Neighbor has started the lawn mower and is removing it from the area. Fire has spread to exterior of garage only. Fire has been knocked down. Investigator requested.
12:54 p.m.: John Scott Boulevard, harassment/threats. Walk-in reporting harassment via questionable Facebook posts. She was advised.
12:50 p.m.: Route 495 North, assisted Norton Fire Department. State Police reports a rollover of a Verizon truck between Exit 9 and 10 into the woods. Personal injury, overpass is very slippery. Box truck overturned, possible ejection of driver, one occupant. Over 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid spilled. Vehicle has been up-righted, placing absorbent on the spill. Transport to Rhode Island Hospital.
1:16 p.m.: E. Hodges Street, general services. Property returned to rightful owners.
3:41 p.m.: Taunton Avenue, breaking and entering of a residence.
6:31 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Two transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
Thursday, Nov. 8
5:54 a.m.: Berry Street, traffic control. Caller reports tree blocking the road, leaning on wires. There is a National Grid truck on the street and will be cutting power and sending tree crew. National Grid estimates work will take a few hours.
6:04 a.m.: S. Washington Street, motor vehicle accident.
9:12 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports he just got into an accident, 495 South at the end of the off ramp to exit 10.
10:39 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries, both vehicles left under their own power.
4:58 p.m.: S. Washington Street, assisted Wrentham and Norfolk Police Departments with serving a search warrant.
7:18 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, vandalism. Caller reports vehicle had four tires punctured. He was visiting someone in the building.
9:03 p.m.: S. Washington Street, vandalism. Caller requests an officer for past vandalism to his green GMC sierra. Log note only, he will handle the repairs himself.
1:33 p.m.: W. Main Street, harassment/threats. Detective Franco reports this was a harassment issue between about 10 kids, they have all been advised and the school is contacting the parents.
1:56 p.m.: Robinson Lane, suspicious condition. Caller reports a small white pickup, with a cap, no printing on it, Rhode Island plates going up and down the street. Stopped at his house to sell packaged meats. Requesting an officer to check on him. Leon from Board Of Health called, he has had complaints about this person before. There has been no license given and if we catch up with him we are to advise him to leave town.
2:54 p.m.: Route 495 North, assisted State Police with accident.
8:53 p.m.: Bay Road, suspicious condition. Caller reports there is a vehicle that has been parked at the end of her driveway and is now out with a flashlight in her driveway. Sergeant Eisnor reports car versus deer, damage less than $1,000. Operator is not the owner of the car.
9:37 p.m.: W. Main Street, harassment/threats. Caller is reporting that she has an active harassment order against her ex-husband and he is tormenting her. Advised her she should fill out a report. She will be bringing report back into the station tomorrow. It will be a violation of a harassment order.
