Tips to Keep Your Water Looking Clean [POLL]

Selectmen met with the Water/Sewer Commission tonight to discuss the water quality in Norton. While they were assured that the discoloration of the water poses no health threats, Superintendent of Water Department Duane Knapp gave tips on how to avoid getting the brownish color.
-Flush your water heater two times a year. Be sure to follow the instructions. If you have misplaced the instructions, visit the manufactering website to obtain a copy.
-Lower the temperature on your tank.
-Don't use liquid bleach. Instead use the powdered form. The chemicals in the liquid bleach reacts with the elements, causing stains.

If you keep your water "looking clean" does that really mean it IS clean? My hair dresser just told me I need a clarifying treatment because of the iron build up on my folicles. Should I shower in Poland Spring. Truth be told there are employees of this town that don't hold the proper credientials to be employed in the postion that they hold.

There is ZERO accountability at the Water Dept. Why aren't the Water and Sewer Commissioners meetings being broadcasted on cable access? They just fly right under the radar with no transparency.
To Janice's point...basically if you have a connection to one of the four famous last names in town, you'll get a nice perky town gig.
