Run for Rescue Fundraiser to Support New England Animal Shelters

Proceeds for 5k and 10k to benefit area shelters.

Bring your dog this Nov. 5 and join a 5k or 10k event that will benefit homeless animals across New England. For a fee of $30 in advance you and your pooch can run, walk or wheel in the event of your choice beginning and ending in Norton’s Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary and petting farm, 37 Eddy St.

The Goodness Gracious Run for Rescue is set for noon. In addition to the road race, the day will include free goodie bags and t-shirts, prizes for the best Halloween costumes and fastest finishers in the races, refreshments and raffles – including a raffle for a year of free pet treats from race host Goodness Gracious of Marblehead.

All the net proceeds from the event benefit a select group of animal shelters and rescue organizations including: PAWS New England, Animal Rescue League of Boston, Winslow Farm, Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter, Friends of Marblehead’s Abandoned Animals, Project Pawsitive, Buddy Dog Humane Society (Sudbury), Baypath Humane Society (Hopkinton) and Help Save One (RI).

The Run for Rescue was established by Goodness Gracious, local maker of healthy pet treats that donates 51 percent of its profits to community shelters, rescues and spay/neuter programs wherever its treats are sold.

“Our mission is to enable all fortunate dogs and cats to help all less fortunate animals – one community, one neighborhood, one home at a time,” said Goodness Gracious founder and CEO, Amy Renz. “We save lives every day by donating half of our profits from the sales of our treats to community animal charities, and we’re excited to kick things up a notch this November 5th with our inaugural Goodness Gracious Run for Rescue. It will be an amazing day and the perfect way to celebrate the joy and love animals bring into our lives.”
