Each week, our council of experts and smart parents take your questions, give advice and share solutions in this parenting column. This feature will also be the place to drop in for a talk about the latest parenting hot topic.
So grab a cup of coffee and settle in as we start the conversation today with a few questions:
How do you prepare your kindergartender for their first day of school? How do you help the transition of your children from elementary school to middle school, and from middle school to high school?
Please comment in the box below, and check Norton Patch every Wednesday at 1 p.m. for this segment.

The best way to help young children transition to a new school is to bring them to the school before classes begin. If you can, have them peek into the window of their new classroom. Having a visual of where they will be going on the first day and what the classroom looks like is comforting.
