Patch Passport: Hidden Gem

Discover a Hidden Gem in Norton that you may have driven by and never known it existed. Or maybe you have not visited this interesting spot in years. So take a little trip with Patch...we’ll show you the way.

You may have visited or driven by Norton Public Library thousands of times, but did you know they have a miniature park that is just perfect for picnics?

Behind the library is a small field with benches, a gazebo and even a garden you can walk through. This is the perfect place to sit back, relax and watch birds, squirrels and chipmunks scurry near your feet. What you may also not know is that on Tuesday nights during the summer, bands play under the gazebo providing family-friendly entertainment.

“It kind of takes you back to what it used to be like here in America,” said Chuck Garrett of Java Jive, a band that played in the park July 12. "It’s good to see everyone outside. It’s nice to see the families out. That’s what this is all about, summertime.”
