Steven Allen Burgess, 58, of Norton, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
He was the husband of June (Hutchins) Burgess, to whom he was married June 12, 2010. Born in Plymouth, Oct. 25, 1954, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Idella (Wade) Burgess.
Steven was a 1973 graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston. For the past nine years, Mr. Burgess was employed by The Enterprise newspaper in Brockton and was formerly employed by Edaville Railroad. A resident of Norton for more than three years, Mr. Burgess previously resided in Taunton.
His favorite pastimes included woodworking, metal detecting, creating sand art, painting and touring the back roads of New England.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Amber Burgess; his sister Linda Burgess Warner and her husband Lenny Warner of Kingston; his brother Ronnie Burgess of Taunton; and two generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation was omitted. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life Saturday, April 6, 2013, anytime from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 91 South St., Kingston. Burial will be private.
