Obituary: Dorothy (LeBlanc) Ellard
Funeral to be held 9 a.m. today at Norton Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church.
Dorothy J. (LeBlanc) Ellard, 75, of Norton, passed away in the presence of her family Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
She was the wife of Francis J. Ellard, to whom she was wed Aug. 4, 1957.
Born in Boston on April 17, 1937, she was daughter of the late Edward L. and Delia (Deveau) LeBlanc.
Dottie grew up in the Dorchester section of Boston. She was educated in Boston schools and was a graduate of Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School. She lived in Norton for the past 37 years.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Ellard had been employed for 30 years at the Boston Insulated Wire and Cable Co. She retired as administrative assistant.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Dottie’s favorite times spent were those in the presence of her family, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, times spent at her family's summer home in West Yarmouth and the beaches of Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Dorothy is survived by her children David J. Ellard and his wife Julie of Foxborough, Edward R. Ellard and his wife Jacqueline of California, Steven M. Ellard and his wife Christine of Brewster and Diane M. Chaplin and her husband Timothy of Attleboro and her 11 grandchildren. She was preceaded in death by her daughter Susan G. Ellard.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
