Constance L. Cormier, 76, of W. Bridgewater, died Nov. 14, 2012.
Constance L. (Lagasse) Cormier, 76, of W. Bridgewater, died Nov. 14, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife for 56 years of Robert A. Cormier. Born in Hooksett, N.H., she was the daughter of the late James and Dora (Galeassi ) Lagasse.
Mrs. Cormier was raised and educated in E. Weymouth and was a graduate of Weymouth High School. She lived in E. Bridgewater for 32 years and had been a resident of W. Bridgewater since 2008.
For many years, Constance had been employed as a customer service representative in the retail industry. She attended Massasoit Community College where she took courses in writing and learning the Chinese language. Her concentration was on writing and she received an award from the Massachusetts State Senate which was presented at the 10th annual Conference of Undergraduate Research at the University of Massachusetts, in recognition of her outstanding presentation of one of her papers. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed painting, tap dancing, roller skating and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Katherine A. Cormier and Joan M. Cormier, both of Wareham, and Jennifer McMasters of Fall River; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Timothy and Luke Cormier and Kyle Nowlin; two great-grandchildren, Devon Drew and Destiny Cormier; two sisters, Anne Lagasse of Weymouth, Angelina Nina Linnehan of Norton; and a brother, Paul Lagasse of Wrentham.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations in Constances name may be made to the MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301, or the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
