Obituary: Addison L. Jennings

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20.

 

Addison L. Jennings, of Plymouth, formerly of Norton, died Sept. 30, 2012 at Jordan Hospital at the age of 94.

Addison was born in Port Jefferson, N.Y. and lived in Mount Kisco, N.Y. where he graduated from Mount Kisco High School. After high school, Addison graduated from Harvard University in 1940 and Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1942.

He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Addison was a certified public accountant in Taunton for many years and enjoyed music, playing the piano, chess, painting, sailing, astronomy and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Bojan (Hamlin) of Plymouth; his children Hamlin M. Jennings and his wife Glenys of Cambridge, Nora Lyn Wohlfeld and her husband Michael of Encinitas, Calif. and Constance T. Jennings-Lane and her husband William of Concord; and his four grandchildren Ashley, Katherine, Grace and Selena.

There are no visiting hours and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. in the May Room in Mary Lyon Hall at Wheaton College. Arrangements made by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet.

I have fond memories of Mr. Jennings. So sad to see so many of our long-time locals leaving us...
