Norton Police Log: Aug. 22 - 24

Wednesday, Aug. 22
8:06 a.m.: Evergreen Road, vandalism. Vehicle struck in lot overnight. Appears to be vandalism from the waste management barrel being brought back into the yard.  
10:40 a.m.: Taylor Court, assisted other police department. Detective from Bourne Police Department requests an officer to check address to see what vehicles are in the yard.
4:18 p.m.: Bay Road, suspicious condition. Caller reports squatters are on property and would like police assistance to investigate/remove. Area checked, no one found.

Thursday, Aug. 23
1:39 a.m.: Toad Island Road. Police arrested Ricky Stevens, 21, of High Street, Taunton, and charged him with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
9:51 a.m.: Mansfield Avenue, domestic disturbance.
3:44 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, motor vehicle accident. Fluid leak. Vehicle towed.
10:35 p.m.: Downing Drive, vandalism. Caller reports his mailbox was smashed, reports an ongoing issue with youths causing trouble in the neighborhood, requests extra patrols.

Friday, Aug. 24
1:07 a.m.: S. Lakeview Road, general disturbance. Caller reports eight to 10 youths under streetlight by field causing a disturbance. Peace restored, town by-law citation issued.
8:55 a.m.: Maple Street, general disturbance. Caller reports there is a male, on foot, who seems agitated. Caller believes he resides at the group home on Harvey Street. Area checked, facility staff sent out.
2:43 p.m.: E. Main Street, two-car motor vehicle accident. No injuries. Both vehicles left under own power.
6:55 p.m.: Harvey Street, suspicious condition. Subject stating he heard a "huge explosion" in the area of Harvey and Maple Street. Nothing in the area and power to residence is still on.
8:53 p.m.: Shelly Road, general disturbance. Call for noise complaint of a dog barking and reports a verbal argument between himself and neighbor. Subjects spoken to.
9:09 p.m.: Marchand Way, suspicious condition. Caller reports hearing gunshots in the woods behind her residence. Second call from Jacobs Way reports fireworks in the area. All quiet.
