Norton Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

George Jung Jr., 20, was wanted for an alleged armed robbery taking place earlier this month.

Norton Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery that occurred Feb. 10.

Police received information that George Jung Jr., 20, of Barrows Street, pointed a handgun at a 14-year-old male juvenile and demanded money.  The incident was reportedly to have occurred while Jung was operating a motor vehicle with the juvenile victim as a passenger, along with two other teens.

After an investigation by Detective James Franco, an arrest warrant for Jung was obtained through the Attleboro District Court for the charge of armed robbery.

On Feb. 22, Jung, while operating his vehicle, was stopped by Patrolman Kevin Schleicher Jr. on W. Main Street.  Jung was placed under arrest on the warrant.  Schleicher was assisted by Patrolmen Bryan Cota, Charles Turcotte and Franco.

Jung appeared in the Attleboro District Court today for arraignment.  He was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing to be held on Thursday.
