Norton Democrats to Hold Caucus

Convention delegates vote candidates for 2012 U.S. Senate Democratic Primary ballot.

 

*Editor's Note- The caucus has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 16, 7 p.m. at Norton High School.

Democrats in Norton will hold a caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2012 convention 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Norton High School.

All registered Democrats in Norton are eligible to participate in a caucus 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Norton High School.

Seven Norton delegates and three alternates will be elected for the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Party’s nominating convention. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Anyone not elected as delegate or alternate who meets the qualifications may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth ages 18 to 35, minority and disabled.

The snow date will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the high school.

Delegates to the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Party convention will elect candidates to compete for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. The convention will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield.
