Mayor of Norton Candidates Seeking Donations

Proceeds to support Norton Parks and Recreation and charities of winner's choice.

Voting is underway to find the unofficial Mayor of Norton.

Candidates Steve Bishop and Meg Fox are hitting the campaign trail over the next month to raise money for local charities and they need  your help. Each vote will cost $1 and there isn't a limit to the number of votes a person can cast. Cash raised between now and Aug. 20, the end to the campaign season, will be split between Parks and Recreation and the charities of the winner's choice.

Fox would like to split the money she raises with Susan G. Komen-Breast Cancer and Autism Speaks.

If Bishop wins, he will donate money to Jacob Vandenburghe, a Norton resident who was chosen to attend the inauguration on Washington DC. He will also donate $250 to the Little Wiffles program Fox started.

To vote for Fox, mail your check made payable to Meg Fox to 11 Eileen Road, Norton. To support Bishop's campaign, mail your check made payable to Steve Bishop to 361 Old Colony Road, Norton or stop into Bristol Coach at 145 W. Main St. between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition to supporting their chosen charities, the Mayor of Norton will also be the Grand Marshall in the annual Parks and Recreation Halloween Parade.

Stay tuned to Norton Patch for the latest fund-raising news from the two campaigns.
