Lions Club Collecting Eye Glasses
May is Lions Recycle for Sight Month.
The Norton Community Lions Club has an ongoing eyeglass collection campaign in the community, and May is Lions Recycle for Sight Month. The Lions Club is collecting unused eyeglasses and sunglasses.
The eyeglasses collected can help children and adults throughout the world in developing countries enjoy a better quality of life. Many will experience corrected vision for the first time. There are five locations where the glasses can be dropped off all year: The Norton Post Office, Chartley Post Office, Town Hall, and North Easton Savings Bank located at 172 Mansfield Ave.
A collection box will also be available at upcoming events. Sunday, May 6 a Touch a Truck event will be held at Henri A. Yelle Elementary School in the front parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is $5 per child.
