High School ID Change for the Better
Letter to the editor from NHS student Tyler Derksen as a journalism assignment.
Dear Editor:
A great thing that happened to Norton High school was the ID problem that has been resolved. We no longer have to wear the distracting cards around our neck. While we should still have them on person at all times, just not having to wear them is great.
It feels as if a burden of stress from some of my students worrying about not having their ID on them and worrying whether or not we either get caught without them or get a detention. Sure the Security measures may have dipped a little but its good to Norton is a town where we don’t need to worry about that sort of thing and we have our local law enforcement to thank for that. Returning back to the school on a brighter side for the teachers; they to no longer have to worry if the students do or don’t have their ids and have to waste class time to check the students. Overall this is a great change to the public school system.
Sincerely
Tyler Derksen
