Maybe we should have school in order to teach you how to punctuate "there's" and spell "emergency," that's why.

Very nice, ladies n gents. Lets assume ignorance in others, with no possibility that younger children use the internet also. My ten year old son doesn't always spell correctly, and I ALWAYS make a point to poke fun at his mistakes. Grow up, people. There are families right now mourning the loss of CHILDREN killed by this horrendous weather, have some compassion for the children still with us. Shame on you.

Also, where I live, we are experiencing heavy to moderate rain, not much in the way of wind, and school is on for tomorrow, so far. Does anyone know what Franklin County is looking at weather wise for the overnight forecast? No t.v. service right now, and I've bren unable to locate anything online specific for my area.

Go mama bear!! I came on here to find info for the state and its safety. I came across this and thought... Guess everyone's alright if they have time to be "better than" everyone else. Damn.

If you'd look around the articles, you'd see a number of whining kids, whom I don't care to coddle. Scold your own ten-year old, you don't need to worry about me. Talk about feeling superior...

I'm not sure precisely what you are referencing, Jane, but I don't feel superior to you or anyone else just because I don't make fun of peoples mistakes. As for my ten year old, he is scolded when necessary, and coddled, also, when needed. Children learn from our actions and attitudes, but far be it from me to demean someone I do not know. However, all of my children find it VERY rude to make fun of and bully those less able than them, and for that, I AM proud. A mama bear knows no bounds. She also knows how to be humble. Im sorry if you felt a need to defend yourself, I wasn't attacking. As for coddling whiny children, sometimes a hug or kind word is enough.

Also, if you were ever a child, didn't you whine a bit when an anticipated snow day only produced a few flakes, and off to school you had to go. I know I did..... but, then, I guess I must have just been a whiny coddled uneducated brat.

Funny how the "child" with the first comment was trying to exploit the "emergancy" (which has apparently KILLED CHILDREN) to get an extra vacation day from school, yet the person who pointed out the absurdity in their comment is the one who gets yelled at.

Maybe "random girl" is not a girl at all. Maybe he/she is a teacher who could use another day off. It's been a long 8 weeks! I wouldn't be surprised to find more than a few burned out already. Why waste one of those coveted personal days?
