An accident at Chartley Four Corners lead to an arrest by Norton police officers Thursday night.
On Nov. 29, at 10:35 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Main Street and S. Worcester Street. Two vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash. No one was injured.
After an initial investigation, police discovered that a Jeep Wrangler, operated by Eric Jette, 25, of S. Main Street, Attleboro, had drifted into the oncoming lane of travel. The other vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, had to cross into the opposite lane of travel in an attempt to avoid a head on collision. The Jeep sideswiped the oncoming vehicle, causing it to spin around and caused heavy damage.
Jette was placed under arrest at the scene and was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
The crash is under investigation by Patrolman Jesse Winters.
