2. “The Hunger Games” movie showing
Norton Public Library will show “The Hunger Games” at 3 p.m. in the community room. Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the 12 districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match. This movie is 142 minutes long and is rated PG-13. Admission to the movie is one canned good or non-perishable food item for the Cupboard Kindness.
3. AT&T Job Fair
On Aug. 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., AT&T will be hosting local job fairs to help fill 55 open positions for its stores across Massachusetts. AT&T is seeking prospective retail sales consultants who are committed to meeting sales goals, staying up the date on the latest data and entertainment technology and devices, and meeting customers' needs. The fairs will take place Aug. 21 at Doubletree Hotel, 44 Middlesex Turnpike, Bedford and Aug. 22 at Hilton Boston/Dedham, 25 Allied Drive, Dedham.
4. U.Fund Dreams Tour
The Discovery Museums will host The U.Fund Dreams Tour from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA), the Commonwealth’s college financing expert, and Fidelity Investments. The U.Fund Dreams Tour is an interactive experience for children and their parents, encouraging career aspirations and educating families about saving for college, including the tax-advantaged U.Fund College Investing Plan. The 2012 Tour will bring their Pavilion to The Discovery Museums from Tuesday, Aug. 21 to Sunday, Aug. 26. Hours vary by day. 5. Register for the Neponset Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Registration is open for the 20th annual Alzheimer’s Association Neponset Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 22 beginning at the Bird Middle School in Walpole. Form a team or walk as an individual. Money raised by Walk to End Alzheimer’s helps to provide care and support for individuals and families touched by Alzheimer’s and to fund Alzheimer’s research.
