As part of a Community Forestry Grant, the Open Space Committee, Conservation Agent, Tree Warden and members of the ConservationLand Stewardship Program will perform a pre-commercial thinning of white pinesand a small pruning project of certain larger white pines on Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gertrude Cornish Town Forest. This work is part of the Forest Stewardship Plan for the Town Forest. Anyone interested in volunteering or learning more about local forestry project isinvited to attend. The group will meet on Plain Street at the Town Forest. Bring a lunch, water, pruners or loppers and gloves.
